I realise that Evo Morales is not the sort of person I would usually support. Links with Hugo Chavez and all that sort of stuff. But there’s one piece of obviously logical politics which I wholeheartedly support:
A firebrand peasant leader is expected to top next week’s presidential
poll in Bolivia, the world’s third-largest cocaine producer, on the
back of pledges to legalise cultivation of the coca plant from which
the drug is extracted.
The problem with cocaine, as with all other drugs, is the very fact of their illegality. They should be legal to grow just as they should be legal to take. Sell the damn stuff in corner shops….would make life a whole lot safer for Tory MPs for example.
