Telegraph “Have Your Say”.

There’s a Telegraph "Have Your Say" thing on the 90 days decision.

God there’s a lot of numpties out there. Half of them don’t seem to be able to see that the criminal law is there not to protect us from criminals but to protect us from the State while they chase them.

Depressing.

Mick Hume in The Times:

THINGS THAT I seem to have missed somewhere,
part 33. When exactly did locking up terrorism suspects for 28 days
without charge — four times as long as in the terror-traumatised USA —
become seen as the liberal/lily-livered option, favoured only by
freedom fighters/traitorous quislings? If this is what championing the
right of habeas corpus has come to, we might as well give up the libertarian ghost.

Quite.

And Anoneumouse has news of the shocking liberality of the Iranian system. Really, how did we get to a place where we are even more illiberal than a medieval theocracy?
