I’m continually astonished by the idiotic manner in which businesses try to advertise themselves to other businesses. The Economist is always full of examples. Take EuroHypo. They finance construction and real estate projects.
Great, lovely.
With a big photo of the pyramids and the tag line:
"Had we been around then, they would have been financed by us."
Really? A German Bank wants to remind everyone that if you’ve got a project for the glorification of the Supreme Ruler they’ll come along and help you whip the slaves into place?
Who do they get to do the Human Resources work? Organisation Todt?
Sheesh. I can’t believe no one picked this up in the process of approving the ad.
