MI5

This is the sort of thing you expect the spies to say:

The head of MI5, Dame
Eliza Manningham-Buller, has publicly warned that civil liberties may
have to be eroded to prevent future terrorist attacks in Britain.

Everyone, always, acts in this manner. Change the rules so as to make my job easier. What we have a right to expect from Government is an appreciation of that fact, and for them to craft the rules so as to stop this form of producer capture.

Something, you may have noticed, that the current shower are not doing.

    There is no chance that this pack of cryptofascists will do anything other than give her whatever she asks for. Without doing anything to make us any safer of course.

    Look if the head of internal security says we need to give up our freedoms to defend freedom, and the police commissioner says we must expect to shoot the odd innocent member of the public to protect the public, who are we to argue?

    Tony Blair and his gang of “New Labour” crooks invaded and annexed (most of) the ideological turf of Thatcher conservatives including:
    1) Blind faith in pseudo-scientific US style “strategic management consulting” applied to the works of government and civil service- look at all these former McKinsey execs infesting Downing Street and churning out dodgy dossiers
    2) The increasing reliance on Madison Avenue-trained communication gurus and other spin doctors
    3) The sheepish alignment of UK foreign/security/intelligence policy with that of the most reactionary elements of the GOP and Israel’s Likud party
    But where Tony beats Thatcher, Bush, Sharon & Co. is in his capacity to roll-in iron-willed “security reforms” reminiscent of the Halcyon days of comrade Joe Stalin: widespread wiretaps, mandatory ID cards, arbitrary detention, the use and abuse of MI5 and Scotland Yard to combat ghostly “urban Mohammedan insurgents”…etc. it’s all coming soon to a theater near you.

    She has admitted treason with a Russian mole at MI5 to further her operation; she is an operations officer.
    She won’t talk about anything becasue everything leads to the MI5 operations officer ‘playbook.’
    Ever think the Als were used by someone in England and that is why they submitted, the bill with the ‘ringleader’ tape. She is just going to protect the actual ringleader and run them to gather more intelligence at the cost of British civil liberties and other goals, which may also be hers.
