Idiots.

Complete idiots, total fools:

Ignoring pleas from
mushroom retailers and consumers, the government yesterday announced
that clause 21 of the Drugs Act 2005, reclassifying psilocybe mushrooms
as a class A drug alongside heroin and crack cocaine, will come into
force on July 18.

From
that date, importation, possession or sale of magic mushrooms will be
punishable by a life sentence, effectively outlawing sales via market
stalls, head shops and the internet.

Laying
the statutory instrument before parliament, the Home Office said the
only exception would be for wild mushrooms, growing on uncultivated
land.

So let’s put the distribution of an addictive substance into the hands of violent criminals. Let’s make the offense carry the same sentence as murder. Let’s stop people growing and supplying it in controlled conditions yet allow the collection of wild growing specimens (I would note that playing fields on limestone containing soils are a useful source).

Well done lads, possibly the most hypnotically insane piece of law making even this shower of morons have managed. Could you stop the world please? I think I want to get off.

  1. Given that we can’t catch most of the current criminals, creating even more is just crazy.

  2. When one reads who has been responsible for ramrodding this heap of manure through Parliament, namely Caroline Flint, the Home Office minister, is all revealed! Is this not the same fair Caroline who spoke out in favour of A.S.B.O.’s for political protesters, amongst others, because they, and I think I quote from memory, “They (the protesters) cause distress and annoyance, and they must be stopped!” What about the distress and annoyance to Democracy, and due process, or precedent, or any other of the myriad terms with which we are supposed to be protected under Common Law? This woman, who has all the charisma of a Nazi Camp Guard, with the same empathy towards the people she is supposed to be serving, does not do her Party, or indeed her Country, any great ssrvice at all, and should bow out before she is thrown out, as she surely desrves!

  3. Apology,
After seeing a photo of Caroline, I must state that it must be another woman who made the statements about ASBO’s, and has the charisma of a camp guard!

  4. I’m not sure they’re actually addictive. But apart from that, yeah.
Actually, I just found this page has a Q&A which confirms(?) this. But check out the picture under ‘Bad Trip’ – someone’s got a really evil sense of humour.
