Then of course there is the FEC is you happen to mention US politics. As I noted last week my original assumption that as a foriegner I could tell them to go whistle has taken rather a jolt

If I were to opine that Toni Blair is a loathsome wee twat, would that potentially be libel or merely vulgar abuse?
Tim adds: Abuse. Essentially, the statement “In my opinion Tony Blair is a wee twat” is not libel, as it is an expression of opinion. “Tony Blair is” could be, as it is a purported statement of fact. -
190 jurisdictions: that’s a thought. And it presumably doesn’t distinguish e.g. Scotland/England, Quebec/Rest of Cananda, etc.
Any way out if I use a dying language, like Gaelic or French?
