"Tintin is a national hero in Belgium and to have an exhibition
dedicated to the country’s greats without him in it is a tragedy," said
Liane Steyaert, a spokesman for Collections et Patrimoine, the
organisers of the event, which celebrates the anniversary of the
country’s independence from the Netherlands in 1830.
Which reminds me of the old line, that there are only two Belgians that everyone has heard of, Tintin and Hercule Poirot, and both of those are fictional.
