I am highly allergic to British drunks, and don’t often go out when I
am back home. Even when they are enjoying themselves there is an
undercurrent of menace. You can be having a pleasant evening with
friends, reeling around the town centre, chanting obscenely and
vomiting into the gutters- when suddenly things turn nasty.

Is this another reason why we are different from our European neighbours?
