The always excellent Jane Galt (she writes for The Economist you know….one of the trivial joys of my sad life is trying to work out which are her pieces of a Friday night) has the best comment I’ve yet seen on the firing of Carly Fiorina from HP:

The highlight of Ms Fiorina’s tenure was, of course, the disastrous
merger with Compaq, in which Ms Fiorina demonstrated that women are
every bit as good as men at senseless, megalomaniacal empire-building.
