Apparently middle aged white middle class people are no longer welcome in one of our National Parks:
The Lake District National Park is to axe the free
guided walks carried out by over 100 volunteer rangers because they
attract only "middle-aged, middle-class white people".
The
scenic walks, which introduce thousands of tourists to the fells each
year, are being scrapped as part of a three-year plan to bring more
ethnic minorities, inner-city children and the disabled to the area.
The total cost of the programme being axed is 32,000 pounds a year. Quite obviously such money should not be spent on white middle aged middle class people as they are the most likely payers of the tax that funds the programme in the first place. Taxes benefiting those who actually pay them meets neither the objectives of social justice nor redistribution.
Clearly something must be done. My suggestion is that only Diane Abbot should be allowed to enter it along with whatever brood she wishes to borrow from her neighbours (Her own son, being privately educated, would not be eligible of course.). That would mean that all vistiors were inner city minorities thus meeting the targets. It would be unkind to suggest that her political views mean that she is also mentally handicapped so to fill that quota we will have to hamstring her as well.
There, quotas met, everybody happy and another major step taken towards our Brave New World.
