Huh?

Mark Almond…part of that British Helsinki Human Rights Group along with John Laughland…says that the Ukraine, Georgia, in fact all of the People Power revolutions, all the CIA’s doing. I doubt it somehow as they’ve never shown themselves to be that efficient before. His analysis is slightly demeaned in my eyes by the following:

Georgia is of course a
link in the chain of pipelines bringing central Asian oil and gas to
Nato territory via Ukraine, of all places.

Huh? Has the man looked at a map? What possible reason could there be to run a pipeline from Georgia to the Ukraine?

  1. Surely, Mark Almond? Otherwise, as well as supporting brutal would-be dictators, this particular Almond will be singing about “Tainted Love”?
Tim adds: Indeed. Sharp eyes on that lad. Changed as you can see.

  2. Well there is a gas pipeline under the black sea. Maybe someone built an oil one whilst we were not looking.

  3. Having seen Mark Almond – quite paunchy with longish ginger hair – the image of him as gay icon popster was not one I could accept…

  4. There is an oil pipeline being built in Georgia as we speak. It makes perfect geostrategic sense for the West to want a network of pipelines which avoids Russian territory. It does mean, however, that the West has to confront Russia more and more directly. I am not sure I am too happy with that, as a Western taxpayer.
