The Diplomad: Seeing the UN Plain: Corruption as a Way of Life

One of the odder job offers I’ve had in my life was to join the United Nations. Not as a paid employes, no, but as an unpaid (expenses only) speaker at various conferences they organised. I was quite looking forward to it, 30 minutes of work for a four day freebie somewhere nice a few times a year. Then I met the bureaucracy. It would take 14 months for me to actually make it to the list, this despite the fact that it was the guy running the conferences that wanted me on that list. I’m therefore not all that surprised by this post from Diplomad. Really, you want to go and read it, all you need to know about the UN.
