If he’s right, Bush will present his nominee as a “strict constructionist”, one who sticks to the letter of the law rather than reading into the constitution rights and privileges that, conservatives insist, aren’t there – such as the woman’s right to choose an abortion, for example.

My word, what an evil man Shrub must be. Appointing someone to oversee the observance of a document and associated set of rules someone who thinks that doing so is done by observance of that document and the associated set of rules. Really quite diabolical wouldn’t you say?
