Roaming the Blogosphere.

OK, so it’s autumn in Portugal, it’s pissing down with rain, can’t take the canine security operatives out for a run as one of them simply will not allow himself to get wet (yes, bathtime is fun in this household) so, what to do? I can’t start any work as it’ll all clear up in half an hour and then we’ll be off.
Hhhmm.
OK, let’s go look round the newer blogs (as defined by being low down on the TTLB system. They may, in fact, not be new at all), see if we can find anything interesting.
First up is Automate Excel. Highly techie blog on the intricacies of Excel. I did my first (and last) programming job on Lotus 1-2-3 V 1.0 so I may well be calling Mark on an upcoming project (I’d much rather find a way to manipulate two 10,000 class data sets automatically instead of by hand. For the econ geeks, trying to measure the effect of the UK being outside the EU tariff barriers.)
Alpha Talk UK looks like an interesting experiment in something I’ve done myself. Using the simplicity of blogging software to give a company a presence on the net. One that might be noted by those wondering where blogging is going to go.
Procrastinet…I’m pretty sure I would disagree with every political idea this person holds (the blog roll has both Kos and Atrios) but worth a mention for the tag line: “Helping people spend their time doing stuff other than the stuff they should probably be busy doing.”
At McBlog 2.0 (from an American in Paris I think) a rather good joke T-shirt. Possibly silicone involved.
The Wired Jester has a take on London that rings true.
Suzie at Turtle-Turtle tells me rather more about the bowel contents of both John Wayne and Elvis than I think I really wanted to know.
Vitus Speaks has a headline up: “John Kerry was an altar boy — so was Adolf Hitler” which may or may not be relevant to what happens on Tuesday (or, if we’re really unlucky, for the next few months).

OK, rain’s stopped. More wanderings some other time.
Vale.

I recently discovered that P’net had been linked to by someone who disagrees with me politically but liked my tagline, having seen it on the “Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem” of blog rankings. Inspired, I went poking around looking for interestingly-titled…
