Three Stories From Modern Britain.

Three stories that give an idea of the absurdities being committed in modern Britain:

The traditional tribute of dropping a shower of poppies during a Remembrance Day service has been banned after fire inspectors said it breached health and safety regulations.

Train drivers are to be banned from routinely sounding their horns at tunnels and on the approach to stations under new regulations to prevent noise pollution.

Window boxes, the city equivalent of allotments, have been banned by an insurance company as the latest threat to life and limb lurking in the nation’s homes.

No doubt train drivers will not be allowed to wear poppies just in case they turn into window boxes.

And these are the people who lived through the Blitz. From that to being terrorized by window boxes and falling poppies.

I think its funny when an elected official complains that a regulator is enforcing the regulations the elected official appointed the regulator to make.

  3. Am I the only one that saw two “o”‘s in “poppies” the first read through? Because that would certainly seem to be a health violation to me.
