Bob Geldof on Band Aid.

Good interview in the Guardian:

The old music has some resonance. A compilation album recently reminded people how many hits the Boomtown Rats had, and even in its 20th year ‘Do They Know it’s Christmas?’ holds up pretty well.
‘The weirdest thing is the carol singers coming round,’ Geldof says. ‘They don’t know it’s my flat, but they start with “Silent Night” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” and then soon they’re into “It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid …”‘ They think it’s as old as “Silent Night”. You go, “Fuck, something really entered the culture.”‘

  1. Christmas caroling is still allowed in The Mother Country? I would have thought it was long since banned by the multi-cultis, along with Christmas decorations in the Red Cross shops.
Tim adds: A sister did come across this idea when she worked for ILEA (Inner London Education Authority) and she believed it. Fortunately she is now cured (children of her own). My take? Yes, of course one should celebrate Diwali, and Ramadan. And Xmas, and Rosh Hashanah and, most importantly, Guy Fawkes, the last time an Englishman knew what to do with a politician.

Tim adds: I’m not going to delete this for the spam it seems to be…..for, who knows, it might be correct.
If Mrs Diss would like to contact me with a link that worked, I could find out, eh?
