Tyler Cwen at Marginal Revolution links to a speech of his, well worth reading. Essentially, the combination of a foodie and an economist advising on where to go eat and get great food.
I would make two points about his advice. One that he seems to be channelling Calvin Trillin (“Alice Let’s Eat” and other collections from the New Yorker) and second that the Ethiopean restaurants (or at least a couple of them) he likes in the N Virginia area were, to my bellys’ joy, there 25 years ago.
His analysis of why to invest in countries where they serve sushi is also a useful piece of geo-economics.
