How Can We Obey the Law?

From Christopher Booker’s column in the Telegraph. It’s a long and involved story about new inventions, landfill, waste into heat and well, the eyes glaze over. Do go through the link, register and read it. It is worth it. For the whole sorry saga hangs on the fact that the relevant Ministry did not actually know what the law was, as expressed by the European Court of Justice. (A note for those who do not already know this. Rulings of the ECJ, in areas where the European Union has competence, over ride anything in national law including the opinions and actions of elected officials.)
The important point to take from this is that it is now impossible to actually obey the law. After all, if even the Government does not know what the law is, how can any of us mere mortals?
