Geeky Vocab Test.

Via Michele who got it from the Llamabutchers who got it from ….well, follow the links. It ends up here with a very geeky vocab test. My score? 174 out of 200. I missed most of the greek roots and the biology stuff. Got backwardation and contango right though, as would be expected from someone who occasionally gets paid to write on economic subjects. OK, OK, it was 20 years ago that I passed the Stock Exchange exams but some things stay with you.
According to the progenitor of the test this result puts me up there in Mensa league: definitely a very different result than I get when looking at the maths tests where I seem to crawl along just above cretin level. (Just in case anyone might think I am dissing the differently abled, cretin is a real word, not just a grab bag insult. It means a particular type of impairment caused by maternal lack of iodine, that condition being known as goitre.)

  1. I suppose if they had legal terms on the test, I would have done much better. As it stands, I regret posting my results as it is obvious my readers and other bloggers are far more learned than I.
