Pascal Lamy talking over the weekend about what might happen if the UK votes no in the constitutional referendum :
“We need to find a sort of position for countries who would benefit from a number of the things the EU brings – for instance, the internal market and freedom of movement of goods and capital – but don’t want . . . integration and an integrated foreign policy,” said Mr Lamy.
Well, yes. That is what we want. Free movement of goods, capital and people. The rest of it, the integrationism, the agricultural policy, the fisheries stupidity : all of those can go hang.
